So, where do I start with a review for Term Wellies in the middle of one of the driest Spring’s the UK has had for years?
How do I test the water-resistant nature of this wellies when we’ve had half our average rainfall in parts of Oxfordshire since last July?
Well, that’s when my daughter reminds me that wellies aren’t just for jumping up & down in muddy puddles. They’re for everyday exploring, helping daddy in the garden & for earning pocket-money washing the car!
And she’s right!
We have put our Term Wellies to the test without water and they are proving a bit hit.
Whilst in the New Forest the Term Wellies were an easy choice by Mademoiselle, – they have a lovely, inner roll down welly sock (which I love, btw) which makes they more comfortable than normal wellies.
We’ve tried other welly socks & liners before but they never quite fit. These removable socks are perfectly moulded to the shape of the welly & I can imagine they’ll keep feet very warm in the winter.
When you remove the socks the boots are one EU size larger, so they will last for longer. When you’re buying the wellies the dual EU sizes are clearly labelled on the sole e.g. 20/21, 22/23 etc. Very clever!
That’s another thing – they look great!
My mademoiselle is now 9 years old and is starting to become more particular about what she wears. There aren’t many places I know where I can buy block colour, purple wellies, which was the request from Mademoiselle! I particularly like the contrasting use of colours both on the sole & they have reflective patches on their heels.
Term has some lovely block colours and some snazzier ones, including ones with patterns & this silver pair. Little Mister says they look like astronaut boots!
Term Wellies in Silver – or as my boy says, his Astronaut Wellies!
Sharon & her husband are behind the creation of Term Shoes. Although they’ve only been Term Wellies, and now shoes, for a year they have sold shoes for other people for over six years!
I don’t usually buy shoes online, especially for Mademoiselle because she has such narrow feet, and she needs to try them on, but Term has made this an easier option. On it’s website there’s a clever, printable foot-chart you can use to measure and give reassurance before you buy. That was useful, especially if translating European to UK sizes!
Would I recommend Term Wellies?
Living nex to a nature reserve and being so close to country walks & cycle paths, we wear wellies all the time& these have quickly become a firm favourites. Whilst they are a little more expensive than your supermarket ones, coming in at around £21, I do think they offer value for money. Firstly, they span two shoe sizes so will last you a long time, and they offer the warmth of a snow boot with the cool look n’ feel of a wellie.
Term Wellies are available in selective stores around the country and online, by visiting here. If you know of a store you think would like to stock these wellies, they would love to hear from you.
Right. We’re off to find some muddy puddles!
disclaimer: We received a pair of Term Wellies in exchange for a frank & honest review. All opinions are my own.
