This week couldn’t be more different to last week! It’s been full of results, and a very positive week.
Ten days after his Chicken Pox spots appeared Little Mister was given the all clear & returned to school. After being at home for so long he really was raring to go!
The day before, I treated him to lunch at a local cafe. He wolfed down his cheese & mushroom toastie & strawberry milkshake as if he’d never seen food before! (He’s better!) We bagged a window seat which allowed him to showed off his new found reading skills. He read every bus & shop sign he could see & talked endlessly about Skylanders Imaginators. Now that they’re both at school I have to take these happy moments when I can. This was one of them – a happy result all round :)!
Mademoiselle finally pressed ‘SEND’ and whizzed off her entry to the Radio 2 500 Word Story Competition.
I’m so proud of her & it’s a huge result that we weren’t panicking to get it in before Thursday’s deadline. Then again, it doesn’t surprise me that she’s the type to not leave things to the last minute!
Her effort was acknowledged in the achievement assembly at school, which was a total surprise for her! Little Mister said he had ‘a little disco in his head, he was so happy’ when his sister was recognised. I love his description of his support for his sister.
With a major gym competition looming for Mademoiselle, she’s been a bit unsure of things lately. But this week she had some great results. She passed her Bronze UKG badge; she nailed the vault moves she was struggling with & is now happy with her floor routine. It’s a great for her confidence & puts her in a good place to start focusing on finessing for her competition
Finally I’m considering a move back into the workplace. For the last five years I’ve been at home, first on maternity leave & settling us into our new home, then as a SAHM then as a freelancing Working from Home Mum. Finding a job that could still allow me to be close to school was always going to be a struggle but I think I’ve found it! We’re working on the paper-work so I won’t say any more now, but I think this could be a good result for all of us in the Mummyshire household.
Just goes to show a lot can happen in seven days!
I hope you are having a good week

I'm Tracey, nice to meet you. Mummyshire was 'born' three years ago after we moved from London to the Oxford countryside. Here I chart our journey adjusting to our new lives, the challenges of being in the countryside & surviving parenthood.
