When I received the My Fairy Garden Fairies and Friends figurines I was curious to see who would play with them first. Having a boy & a girl in the house means we have an eclectic mix of toys all of which they both play with. We don’t have boys toys and girls toys, we just have toys!
My Fairy Garden Fairies and Friends
The My Fairy Garden Fairies and Friends figurines were very well received by both children. The packaging is beautiful, although there is a lot of it. But once you release the fairies from their wires and glue spots you realise just how beautifully put together & perfectly proportioned they are.
Each pack includes three fairies and their animal friends – Lily, Andrena and Heather, and Hedgehog, Frog and Squirrel.
I took the fairies and friends to the park for the children to ‘discover.’ Where else would you find fairies?!
Little Mister & Mademoiselle were initially playing football in the park but gave it up for the fairies and friends who really did capture their imagination.
I think because each fairy is so colourful & is made with such detail you could imagine Lily, Andrena or Heather sparking into life. Little Mister, who is 5yo, found Heather particularly fascinating!
Whoever says there are ‘boys toys’ and ‘girls toys’ is wrong. There are just toys!
A few days later we took the fairies out & once again they became the focus of some creative play.
Mademoiselle took the fairies on the seesaw, singing all the way. Then they played together with Little Mister in charge of the animals. I’m really not sure what their storyline was, but that’s the joy Let’s Pretend play, isn’t it?!
Playing with My Fairy Garden Fairies and Friends
You can see the video of all the other characters here:
I think the Fairies and Friends are beautiful and more robust that you’d probably thing, so plenty of play in them. I can see my Little Shires bringing the fairies & animals into the garden alongside other toys. They’d also make a cute addition to the existing My Fairy Garden flowerpot or watering can, or played with on their own in a restaurant or when out and about – I won’t say quietly as mine took them into a world of make-believe, but certainly creatively!
I’ve included my Amazon affiliate links below in case you can’t find the items locally.
