If Luck is a lady then now it feels like she’s my BFF. This week I feel very lucky to have people around me who are just ace and work & home life seems to be on a very positive up. This week I’m feeling Lucky.
I’m writing this from a hotel room (alone) in Bristol. It was my last wash-up project meeting with the team and as a ‘thank you for your hard work’ we were treated to an afternoon at The Bristol Lido, enjoying hot tubs, saunas and outdoor swimming pools before tucking into some amazing tapas.
Dadtired surprised me and arranged an overnight stay for me as I’ve always done a day trips. So I got to enjoy one too many glasses of wine with my team! How lucky am I to have such an empathetic and together team & a generous husband?. Thanks all *m-wah*
I woke on Tuesday to find a post I wrote about encouraging children into the Kitchen was now published by the Daily Mirror newspaper
I’ve also had some blog offers that really suit my blog, including some lovely foodie ones. I know Little Mister will so enjoy the Skylanders event in half-term!
Talking of Little Mister, he seems to have turned another corned with his reading. We had plateaued and strategies and ideas coming from school weren’t working.
Looks like it was the books; he’s not a big fan of Kipper, Biff & Chip!
We’ve discovered Project X books about some boys who shrink and have adventures – which he really enjoys and his reading has picked up again. I’ve also made some Phonics tricky work games from bits of card & colouring in with felt tips and he’s loving these. So we’re back on a roll.
It’s lucky he enjoys books, and often he & his sister are in the playroom reading books – well she’s reading to him – as part of their independent play. He now just needs to keep up his reading – but he’s still only four and I’m very proud of him.
Finally my name came to the top of the waiting list of BlogCamp. Am looking forward to Saturday and meeting so many other bloggers face to face!
We’re on a positive roll, generated by more luck than judgement, but I’m going to accept it and keep rolling with it!
I really hope you’ve had a lovely week

I'm Tracey, nice to meet you. Mummyshire was 'born' three years ago after we moved from London to the Oxford countryside. Here I chart our journey adjusting to our new lives, the challenges of being in the countryside & surviving parenthood.
