…And before you know it, it’s Christmas!
I do like a plan and a list. Now that I’m working it’s even more important I have a plan and a list to remember everything from where are the children to that we’ve run out of toilet roll!
But when it comes to Christmas, I’m usually a last-minute-Larry as I’m a sucker for soaking up the atmosphere. So when I was asked to ‘consider getting a head start’ on Christmas and what I’d do, it did make me think.
Are there really bargains to be had buying now for Christmas? Is the panic of not getting the choices you want worth risking it for the ‘atmosphere’ of Christmas? Is the guilty of putting off holiday shopping until the very last minute, causing stress and drama in your life worth it?
What about you?
Could this year be the year that you plan ahead and get a jump start on your Christmas shopping. Even if that just means brainstorming about gift ideas and planning what you’ll be buying various people? Could it really help to make the holiday season that much more enjoyable and not so rushed?
To help get you in the holiday frame of mind, I was challenged to look at some luxury gift ideas that would make for a wonderful present which may just need that little bit more planning … and saving up to pay for it!
When it comes to a thoughtful, luxurious, and unique gift ideas it’s hard to beat Christmas food gift hampers. I remember receiving a cheese & wine hamper on year and it really was appreciated.
Holidays are all about getting together with friends and family, which tends to involve food and drinks. When you send someone Christmas food gift hampers or specialty food hampers from British Fine Foods, you know you’ll be providing them with all kinds of goodies ideal for serving while entertaining.
British Fine Foods offers a variety of themed hampers packed full of all kinds of goodies such as fine cheeses, wines, jellies, meats, crackers, and so much more. You can even pick one that is packed in an actual wicker hamper that they can keep and use for picnics. You know your gift will not only be appreciated but will also be used in its entirety.
Keep in mind that for something such as a Christmas food hamper it pays to plan ahead. The last day to place a guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery order is December 16, 2017.
Whoever you’re buying for, as long as you know them and their taste, you really can’t go wrong with jewellery. This is another luxurious Christmas gift idea that can sometimes be wise to purchase in advance. As we draw closer to the Christmas season, the selection tends to get smaller, leaving you less to pick from. As well, when you purchase an item in advance it gives you a chance to get it sized if it needs sizing.
Anyone who knows cashmere knows there is nothing softer. Also, its for those special times you’re enjoying dinner out with friends, minus kids! With that said a cashmere throw can make for the ultimate luxury gift. Keep in mind this item doesn’t come cheap, but if you’re buying it in advance then you’ll have some time to pay it off by Christmas.
A personalised, monogrammed gift is one of the most thoughtful things you can purchase, and it’s a gift idea that works for both men and women. It doesn’t have to be an expensive gift, but the adding of a personal touch makes it feel so special.
When me & Dadtired first move in together I bought him an egg whisk from somewhere I can’t remember but, Breakfast at Tiffany style, got it engraved at Tiffany’s London. We still have this whisk *love hearts*
You can have all kinds of items monogrammed such as linen, bathrobes, pyjamas, towels, a leather-bound journal, pen set, golf balls, tie clip and cufflinks, a flask, it’s really a never-ending list.
Buying this item in advance allows you to look around and get it monogrammed or personalised.
Yes, I know it’s only Autumn, and we are just snapping our little ones going back to school and haven’t yet sat through a Harvest Festival, but could a little bit of forward planning pay off?
Are you a planner or a panicker? Would you consider getting a head start in planning – if not purchasing – the Christmas gifts on your list? Or would you rather shop with Christmas jiggles in the background? I’m curious and would love to know, so leave comments!
