Funky Camel…and other related Christmas play songs… is my word of the week.
Little Mister has his first big Christmas school play this week and he’s embracing his singing role.
The Funky Camel song’s been on loud & repeat all week as he’s practising.
He’s had three performances in front of audiences this week, with one more to come. I’m proud of his stamina and enthusiasm but now that I’m humming the Funky Camel song whilst in Sainsbury’s means it has to be time for a change!
‘Strictly Nativity’ is the name of the play – I’m sure you can guess the theme!
The judges, including Ceasar (Craig Revel-Horwood character) and the The Innkeeper’s Wife (Darcie B’s character) get to see various stories including the three wise men who tell their tale thru song & supporting, funky camels! But the judges declare the best story in the world is the story of Jesus at Christmas & the only one worthy of perfect 10 score!
It’s very cleverly put together & my boy gets to sing his heart out. Not just to the Funky Camel song but this is where his voice seems to be loudest! It’s lovely seeing him so happy.
Other news – we’ve been getting Christmassy. What else?!
Ellis Elfington, our elf, arrived and he’s been hiding and making mischief ever since. In the morning the Mademoisell & Little Mister hold hands on the search for Ellis. It’s very cute and super festive!
Christmas cards are written & the kids posted theirs at school. I’m a traditionalist at Christmas & enjoy writing & sending cards. Mine are all done, now just to embrace the post office queue…!
We’re buying the Christmas tree at the weekend. I really should be tidying up the Lego so there’s some space to put it, instead I’m writing this!
I have plans for a Christmas Song list on Deezer, although I know it’ll drive Dadtired mad. He’s more Bar Humbug when it comes to Christmas – small doses is how he’d prefer it.
Me? I’m an avid embracer. It’s also my birthday on Christmas day, so this really is the one time I get to celebrate and go large, as they say!
The children have a Christmas party this weekend & I have drinks planned with some of the amazing friends I’ve met since moving here. To be honest, it doesn’t need to be Christmas for us to have a drink with each other!! But each of them is super special and I’m looking forward to spending time with them this weekend.
We’ve eating our way through what feels like a hundred-weight of Mince Pies too. Little Mister could eat a dozen at a time if you let me, not that I have!
We’re all feeling fun & a bit like the camels, all funky and festive!
Hope you’ve had a lovely week
