Ellis Elfington, our Elf on the Shelf, returned on 1st December.
I wasn’t sure how he would be received, if I’m honest, as Mademoiselle is getting older& I’m sure some of her peers at school are sneering at the whole ‘Father Christmas is real’ statement. But my Mademoiselle still believes, and we’re really pleased in our house.
So come the 1st December Ellis Elfington arrived sitting on gifts for the Little Shires…their Christmas jumpers!
Little Mister was so excited to see Ellis back, he kept running into his sister’s room to peer at his Elf. Coupled with the chocolate advent calendar, the 1st December was a good day for Little Mister!
This week Ellis hasn’t been too difficult to find – I’m saving my pinterest ideas until later in the month!
The Little Shires like the cheeky things Ellis does best. Finding him in the sweet jar on day #3 was bitter sweet. Funny until they realised they couldn’t get to their sweets for a whole day!
Ellis’s magic doesn’t work if he’s touched, apparently… We may revisit this one later in the month!
Day #4 & the cheeky Elf was poking out from underneath the sofa ‘watching’ them watching TV. Remarkably there were no protests when it came to turning off the TV and heading to bed. Thanks Ellis *winks*. He may be turning up here again, too!
Day #6 was the first Ellis ‘forgot’ to move… Somehow I woke up just gone midnight with this thought!
Seriously, how can this be only a week in?!
But when the Little Shires saw Ellis dangling off the balloon with Ken trying to help him their imagination ran wild… eyes like saucers and the tales told just as broad!
This is why I do it, right?!
Week #1 has been eventful with one near fail…here’s looking forward to the second week with our Elf on the Shelf!
I’d love to see & hear about your elf on the shelf antics. I need all the good idea I can get!
I'm Tracey, nice to meet you. Mummyshire was 'born' three years ago after we moved from London to the Oxford countryside. Here I chart our journey adjusting to our new lives, the challenges of being in the countryside & surviving parenthood.
