This week I’ve been playing catch up all day, every day – or at least that’s how it feels
The week started badly and I’ve been running to catch up with it ever since.
Every school/work day morning, without fail, Little Mister wakes up and comes into our room. Well, on Monday morning he didn’t!
We don’t use an alarm clock any more, not since we have children. So Monday morning was a rush …and some!
It was the first day back to school after two weeks and a bit at home, and a return to work for me and Dadtired. Although bags were packed the night before we just weren’t in the “zone” so everything took longer. Much longer!
Ugh, Monday morning was awful. I’m not a morning person so that probably doesn’t help *haha*
Still, we made it out of the door *just* with enough bags between the children to make it look they were leaving home!
But you know when you return home and all the things you didn’t do before you left now need doing? Well, that seems to have been the state of my week.
Every morning there has been some issue which has made us rush & play catch up in the morning & evening.
On Wednesday I was a broken woman as me & Dadtired didn’t get to bed until the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
No, we weren’t painting the town red – we *stupidly* caught up on Big Little Lies on Sky Planner. Neither of us had any intention of staying up so late, honestly. But when Dadtired said “oh, there’s only one more and then we’ve done” well, it was hard to resist.
The series is totally epic & I won’t spoil it apart from to say it’s sooo unexpected!
But on a positive, I’ve had time to catch up on some reading, particularly blogs (and commenting!) I’ve purposefully changed my strategy to read just one or two of my favourite blogs each evening, and not try to dip in and out of. It’s been good.
I’ve also had time to catch up on writing. I’ve had two trips into London this week & it’s amazing how much you can do on a 35 minute train journey, with no social media interruptions!
Mid week was my sister’s birthday, so it was lovely to catch up with her, and this weekend me and Dadtired are catching up on some quality time together by attending a secret supper club. The idea of not having to share my food with anyone is exciting in itself!
I also need to catch up on some sleep!
Hope you’ve had a lovely week, despite the crazy weather *it snowed here on Tuesday. How bonkers is that?!*

I'm Tracey, nice to meet you. Mummyshire was 'born' three years ago after we moved from London to the Oxford countryside. Here I chart our journey adjusting to our new lives, the challenges of being in the countryside & surviving parenthood.
